Driving in Scotland....and driving some more!

We drive as a team. Driver (me) focuses on following the rules and staying on the correct side of the road. Co-drivers shout out turns and exits on roundabouts. All very exciting. Wednesday was our longest drive up to Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. We left around 9 this morning and got home about 9 this evening. We originally intended to avoid driving after dark, but that clearly did not happen. In order for the driver to stay alert for the last 45 minutes or so, we played songs we could all sing along to. You can find out a lot about people when you start singing together! I have to say we are too much fun to keep contained.

When looking at the pictures, just remember we have been out in strong, damp winds most of the day. Culloden was our first stop and it is huge. You could walk around outside for a couple of hours and not see it all.

This is the farmhouse some of the Jacobites fled to after the battle of Culloden, only to be trapped and shot by the British shortly after.
Charlie and Angus visit Clava Cairns looking for the split stone. Everybody is helping them look!
Will they EVER find the split stones??

Stay posted for the next update on the search...

Kim doesn't look to upset about the iron bars...she does escape not long after and smirks at the dungeon behind her!

But the views of Urquhart castle were pretty nice, probably kept her distracted!
